NEW ORLEANS – On Could 15, the Louis Armstrong New Orleans Worldwide Airport (MSY) celebrated the opening of its new navy lounge. Situated in a pre-security house on stage three of the terminal, the lounge offers lodging for active-duty navy members and their households at no cost.

“It was vital for us to create this house for our active-duty service members to allow them to be comfy throughout their travels,” stated the Hon. Michael Bagneris, chair of the New Orleans Aviation Board, at a grand opening celebration. “Our nation’s navy members make so many sacrifices for our nation, and we hope this new amenity might help make their journeys a bit simpler.”

Facilities embrace complimentary snacks, seating, charging stations and TVs. It’s staffed by volunteers and open from 8 a.m. to eight p.m. each day.

“We’re so proud to supply this new amenity to the courageous women and men of our nation’s navy who put their lives on the road to maintain us secure,” stated Kevin Dolliole, director of aviation for MSY. “Particular due to our volunteers and workers who labored so laborious to get this house up and working. I do know it is going to be actually valued by our navy neighborhood.”
